Another quilt in progress...

OK, the title is kind of misleading.  There's never a time when I don't have like a dozen quilts in progress.  But I started a new one a couple of weeks ago even though I had other items of a higher priority on my to-do list.  Shannon over at pieceful kwilter is hosting a block swap of 15" Sister's Choice blocks made using jewel-toned batiks.  If you send her a dozen blocks by August 31st, she'll swap them out and return 12 different ones to you.  There's no sign-up so you can join anytime.

Sister's Choice blocks

I loved the color combination when I saw them on her blog and thought I would play along.  But once I finished my blocks, I decided I liked them too much to swap them!  I want to keep them all to myself.  I'm particularly loving the blue butterfly fabric in the HSTs...

I actually had all the fabrics in my stash except for the black Kona cotton.  Shannon also offered an idea for the layout.  I like it as well, but wanted to tweak it some.  These blocks have gone together so quickly that I'm going to make 4 more and make it a king size quilt.  (I've been meaning to make one for our bed for years.)  So I designed a couple variations of the quilt in EQ7 and asked my quilt bee which one the liked best.  Unfortunately they're pretty evenly split between these 2 options...

Option 1

Option 2

So what do you think?  Which one do you like best?  And keep in mind that the applique in Option 2 will be a little more varied in shape and color.  It's just what was quickly available in the program.

If I can decide which way I want to go, the quilt top should come together very quickly.  The quilting of it - well, that's a different horse all together...

Until later...

The mountains and hills may crumble, but my love for you will never end, so says the Lord who loves you.
